Máiréad, The Selkie Queen- Week 1 “Connor and Máiréad” by Jennifer Ryan

Raised by an adopted grandmother after she was found alone on the beach, Máiréad finds out at the woman’s death that she not only has a family, but that her mother was the Selkie Queen. With the help of the Cailleach and her friend, Liam, Máiréad must navigate her way through a new world as she figures out who she is and what she wants. Making enemies and alliances as she joins a society she knows nothing about, Máiréad needs to decide where she will find her home, on land or in the ocean?

*Selkies are mythological creatures that are able to remove their sealskin and become human.
*The story takes place in Ireland and the Selkie Kingdom. Máiréad is currently in the Selkie Kingdom.
