That was a ride of a story. Entertaining throughout. I think the dolphin/shark analogy was a bit over the top, but it kind of fit the off kilter POV of the story as a whole. Good job.

Hi Randy, a great suspenseful pace you have set through the piece. You kept my focus all the way. While the ending was a total surprise, i feel you left enough cookie crumbs to make it believable and not just a ‘dump’…well done. A couple of great lines: ‘Brittany stretched her lips until her ears hurt’ and ‘she head-butted the wood three times’….really good imagery.
What if Melissa told Brittany ‘i’ve seen you watching me through my window’ and then the come-on (just my thought)….write on.

Very enjoyable take on the Prompt. HOW DARE people show their love for each other. Brittany’s jealousy is well detailed. And always wanting more. Just enough foreshadowing when Melissa hugged Brittany that the twist wasn’t completely out of the blue.

Great fun story. Thanks for the post

An interesting story. About the time I was becoming bored with Brittany’s over-the-top jealousy, you threw in the plot twist. Bravo! Not only did I not see it coming, it seemed completely out of left field! Super job!

Yikes! I guessing that came as a surprise to Brittany. Yet, it seems to suit her just fine. One might say…”What necklace?” lol

Great job with the twist!

Eish Randy, that was a twist and a half. You detailed Brittany’s mania really well, in a way that I was pretty sure she was in a world of her own. The line about ‘people like that’ having to be ‘Controlled. Enslaved. Killed’ is chilling. I am still wondering about the circumstances of Frank ‘leaving,’ though and suspected Brittany had actually killed him off. Brittany’s swift acceptance of Melissa’s counter-offer seems to indicate all that jealousy was misplaced passion? I’m worried for Charles now. Cool premise, greta dialogue and memorable characters. Well done and best regards, Seyi

P.S Definitely sounds like Melissa knows how to get exactly what she wants in life.
