Pavlova’s Ghost by Birgitte Necessary

Ruby Ferraro gave up her dreams of becoming a professional ballerina, to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a successful attorney. After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a train derailment, she returns to ballet to heal her body and mind, in hopes of resurrecting her law career. But as her old dreams of dancing reignite, Ruby starts seeing the ghost of prima ballerina Anna Pavlova, who tells Ruby that she would do anything to possess a body and once again dance. Is Anna real? Or just a hallucination caused by Ruby’s brain injury? As Anna's ghost becomes insistent on directing Ruby’s training and interfering in her career, the resulting struggle pits Ruby against Anna in a battle over lost hopes and new ambition, threatening not only Ruby’s chance at recovery, but her very life.
