Hiya,
First off, Miranda is only read if someone is being arrested, and if they are being arrested, they would not be treated with the same informality and over-sharing of information by the police like you have in this scene. Also, if she was arrested, she’d be allowed a phone call and I can’t see that she’d be as calm as she is here. She’d be…[Read more]

Great scene with a lot of complexity! You keep the plot moving forward by forcing the reader to wonder what’s happening. I’m hooked!

Thank you so much Hanna. I was intrigued by the need to write a flashback within a flashback, and hoped it would work okay. I so appreciate your kind comments!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. And no, I think the reader will find out some things about the mom that will make things a bit clearer. Hopefully. Ha. Stay tuned.

Wow, thank you so much for the beautiful complement. It really means a lot. And yay I’m glad reality stays a bit blurred. I feel that way when I’m “in” Ruth’s head, haha. (Or maybe just all the time these days???)

Great collection of scenes as usual. I love the tension around the attempted escape scene. You keep the pace tight with your short snippets. Very effective. And super realistic that Paul and Sheila are struggling with each other right now. Great job!

Wow I’m so hooked. All three scenes are stellar and compelling. Just keep weaving your story magic! I’m under your spell!

Great scenes. You’re building tension with each of them. The almost “normalcy” of the girls’ existence before something really awful happens really speaks to the banality of evil and is kinda terrifying. Super nice job!

Interesting twist and diversion. Pretty clear goal for Mrak too. And like other comments, I too like that humans are involved again, as I think their ability to both help and hinder can be integral to moving the story forward. Nice job!

Interesting scene. I like it for the depth it conveys. The struggle of Gotts against JD, and her attempt to understand him. I’m not sure what the goal of the scene is in terms of furthering the story, but that’s something you can add in rewrites or edits to make it a bit more compelling or give it some more forward momentum. It’s definitely a…[Read more]

Great scene with deep struggles. Poor Gotts, haha. She has her work cut out for her. And JD is definitely struggling with stuff. I love the religion discussions even though religion shouldn’t be discussed. You do a great job creating tension around what should and shouldn’t be construed as “feelings.”

Beautiful sequel to the previous scene, where Magali has to deal with her emotional reaction to Euan being gay. Very honest and spot-on in terms of it feeling realistic. Nice job!

Okay this scene is great, exactly how I wanted Magali to be in this situation. I’m still mad at those two for letting her into a dangerous situation, but I’m willing to chill a bit if Magali is. Also, I’m a vegetarian and the dinner description made me hungry. Just sayin. Haha.

OH gosh I’m distressed to hear that it’s reported even less now. Whyyyyyyy? Argh. And okay, kissing definitely tones down my ire over what I assumed happened to Magali, so maybe it was just my reading of it, haha. Thanks for clarifying. I’m glad you’re taking on this topic because it obviously needs airing, especially if it’s still so much an issue there.

Thank you so much. My mom is okay, but she’s going to need a total shoulder replacement. Sigh. And thank you for the great comments! They are so helpful. 😀

I mean I think it was just because I was craving Thai food that I had to add it into the scene. You are what you write, right? (Okay probably not… Hopefully not.) Anyway, my favorite ballet shop does have a vegan Thai place nearby so….
Thank you so much for the great comments. They are so helpful. 🙂

Thank you so much, Hannah. I appreciate your support and your comments. And ugh yeah, the conversations I have in class with other dancers over the leotard conundrum, haha. It’s real. 😀
