An apt piece – conversational and easy flowing , but you left me wondering about what could be on that FB page? And if the spicy offensive breath of her supervisor could lead to a CV infection? maybe a sequel….?

Like the larvae, we have to survive as wives, mothers and grandmothers – and the eating of one’s own shell caught my attention too. Thank you for commenting and reading – and seeing the life of both women!

What a wonderful memoir – what a beautiful and loving way to grief. Angelique, this is so powerful – your last paragraph had me swallow a few times.

After my despondency with the prompt AND the count – this is a wonderful comment, thank you Angelique. The butterfly was the only thing I could think of transforming/translating apart from using languages! Glad it slotted in.

Tardigrades!!! Thank you for the feedback Becky – the prompts and artefacts lend authenticity to an otherwise otherworldly clash of civilisations – I hope

It’s a futuristic-world-plunging-into-the-deep-past continuation, if prompts allow 😉

What a lovely take on the prompt, Jacqueline. A lot happening with everyone’s recall but a feel-warm story. Thanks for sharing 😉

Well written Becky! -

Ouch Wailana – goosebump stuff! Brilliant and beautiful. Thank you for sharing such an emotional (biographical?) piece. You have a beautiful way with words – loved this description:
“And if you leaned into the wind just right you might just catch it whispering the meaning of everything, everything.” And then the hanging-end-moment as a complete…[Read more] -

Now I want more HM! Intrigued.
I especially enjoyed the vivid scenery – especially this sentence, grabbed me:

Ajien limps to the mouth of the cave. It is the first time she can put weight on her sprained foot. Grateful for the change in scenery and the now new grey fresh air. The same cataclysmic view but a shift in […]

🙂 🙂 Hi Kim – I sent you a long reply-email! Thank you for the welcome-back-enthusiasm xx
I also enjoy Ajien’s POV more – it’s easier …but it is a challenge to keep the two perspectives real
Thank you thank you for stopping to read and comment. Means a lot to me xx -

Jennifer, so much said in such limited words -what a feat. This is a fantastical take on the prompt – loved reading it.

This rang true on so many levels for me, Evon! You write with such ease it makes it a pleasure to read. And a stunning though slightly sad end.

Hi Evon, I have lapsed into lockdown and not contributed for the past 2 years, but I do remember from way back that the actual word of the prompt doesn’t have to be mentioned as long as there is a general hint in that direction… I might have it wrong, maybe post the question on the FB group. But I purposely avoided the direct use of JEWEL in…[Read more]

Hi Annalie, it’s nice to see these characters again and their unique perspectives. I see you are continuing your artifact project. Too bad the tardigrades distracted Ajien, but it made for a good story! Well done!

Interesting mix of prehistory and SciFi. . When I read “polyurethane” it threw me for a moment, until I caught on. An unusual piece, but it had me hooked. Well-thought-out and well-written.
Thank you Andie – comments like yours keep me in the ‘series’…
An unusual mix of genres – and I suspect something with time-travel too? Well done on bravely putting this on the page!

Thank you for reading
I love this ongoing story, this blending of future with past. I love that you’ve given both characters their own strengths and weaknesses and by highlighting these, you show how the two come to work together and rely on one another. I can’t wait until this is a full length novel that I can read in one sitting, patiently waiting for the sequel, or the prequel, and maybe even one day a movie or tv series.
Hi Annalie,
I think I’ve read some of these in the past. Someone with a transistor radio meeting a caveman–I remember reading something like that. It’s a very interesting idea I like seeing both POV’s–Gruff is straightforward and uncomplicated–good guy.
Fun read!
